I was not familiar with any of these movements but one movement that intrigued me was the organization of the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 by Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. What I found most interesting in this was the way two normal women came up with this idea because they were not allowed in the World Anti-Slavery Convention only because they were females. This is strange because women participated in the anti-slavery movement in large numbers, even white women. So when they were not allowed they decided to start a movement of their own that would focus on their rights and their status in American society.
